MADTOWN JUNIORS
Tyler Wills
Girls Director
Tyler Wills is the Girl's Director At Madtown Juniors. Before coming to Madtown, Tyler has had experience both in coaching and playing volleyball at a collegiate level.
Tyler was the second head coach in Marian men's volleyball program history.
Wills came to Marian after spending the two seasons as an assistant coach for women's volleyball at Transylvania. The Pioneers went 43-16 over two seasons including a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference championship this past season after going 28-5 with a perfect 8-0 mark in conference play. This earned Transylvania a trip to the NCAA tournament for the first time in program history where the Pioneers were eliminated by eventual national runner-up Emory. Transylvania closed out the final national poll ranked 19th in the nation.
Wills also spent two seasons as a volunteer assistant coach at the University of Louisville prior to Buena Vista. While at Louisville, Wills was part of a coaching staff that led the Cardinals to a 2015 Atlantic Coast Conference championship. During his first season at Louisville, the Cardinals went 24-7, advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. He also spent time coaching U-17 teams for the Kentucky Indiana Volleyball Association during his time in Kentucky. Under Wills, those teams placed third and second, respectively at the AAU National Tournament in 2016 and 2017.
His playing career saw him compete at NAIA member Clarke University where he was a standout all four years of his career. Wills was a four-time AVCA All-American, a four-time all-conference first-team selection, and a two-time conference player of the year. In 2014, Wills led Clarke to a third-place finish at the NAIA National Tournament. Wills was inducted into the Clarke Athletics Hall of Fame in 2022.
Wills is a native to Dubuque, Iowa and earned a bachelor of arts in business finance with minors in accounting and sport management while at Clarke.
